A 27-year-old woman from El Progreso, Yoro, who traveled to Guatemala and re-entered Honduras through an informal border crossing has tested positive for measles, the country's fourth confirmed case.

The Medical College of Honduras and the Health Ministry are negotiating over physician demands including back pay and job security, with proposals now being reviewed by union members while doctors maintain informational assemblies at hospitals nationwide.

Honduras will offer measles vaccinations at major airports—including San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, and Roatán—for travelers heading to countries with active outbreaks; the vaccine must be administered at least 14 days before travel.

Honduras now requires proof of measles vaccination for its citizens traveling to Guatemala, Mexico, the US, and Canada, and for incoming travelers from those countries, after confirming 2 cases and 161 suspected cases of the highly contagious disease.

Surveillance teams from all 20 of Honduras's health regions attended a PAHO-supported webinar on epidemiological intelligence, part of a Pandemic Fund-backed project to build a faster, One Health–integrated early-warning system for outbreaks and health emergencies.
