Rescue teams are searching for two men who disappeared while attempting to cross the swollen Wampú and Los Mangos rivers in Gracias a Dios and Olancho after heavy rains, with over 2,000 people displaced and homes damaged across the region.

Copeco warned that Honduras will face heavy rainfall and electrical storms from June 15–21 as a trough and tropical wave move across the country, with the southern and western departments expected to see the most intense precipitation.

A trough system bringing wind convergence from the Caribbean and Pacific will bring scattered rain and thunderstorms to most of Honduras on Wednesday, with the heaviest accumulations (up to 40 mm) forecast for Valle, Choluteca, and Intibucá, and authorities urging precautions against lightning strikes.
