The national electricity utility ENEE announced scheduled power cuts on August 6 across Francisco Morazán, San Pedro Sula, Olancho, and Valle for routine circuit maintenance, with outages lasting four to six hours in affected neighborhoods.

The national utility ENEE will cut power on August 4 across neighborhoods in Yoro, Cortés, Santa Bárbara, Copán, and Ocotepeque for scheduled maintenance work on electrical circuits, with outages lasting four to six hours depending on the zone.

The state power utility ENEE will cut electricity from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 2 in parts of Tegucigalpa and surrounding areas for scheduled maintenance on a transmission transformer at the Amarateca substation.

Former national power company manager Salomón Ordóñez cautioned that Honduras's largest hydroelectric dam, El Cajón, requires steady funding and emergency spare parts to avoid costly thermal-power substitution, and urged against privatizing generation and transmission.

ENEE has scheduled maintenance outages on June 23 affecting La Guama and surrounding towns (8:30 AM–4:30 PM), San Pedro Sula neighborhoods (8:45 AM–2:45 PM), and Juticalpa and much of Olancho (8:00 AM–4:00 PM).
