An anti-corruption group filed a complaint asking Honduras's audit tribunal to investigate whether doctors were paid during the ongoing health-sector strike and whether they met their work obligations, as the walkout nears 40 days and disrupts patient care.

At least 200 interim and 500 contract physicians at the Honduran Social Security Institute (IHSS) have not received payment, according to the association's president Ricardo Rodas.

Honduras's physicians are holding nationwide assemblies despite government announcements of progress on back pay, citing database errors and unclear employment categories that complicate salary resolution.

Honduras's Medical College (CMH) gave the government three days to pay over two months of back wages to public-sector doctors and reinstate physicians who were dismissed, threatening escalated labor action if demands are not met.
