A Honduran court scheduled closing arguments in the trial of four people accused in the Delta Teams case—including alleged human trafficking and the disappearance of young Honduran Angie Peña on January 1, 2022—for October 23, with a verdict to follow.

In a video recorded before his murder, Dereck McNeil, a key witness in the four-year-old disappearance of Angie Peña, identified five Atic criminal investigators and alleged they attempted to manipulate the investigation.

A video statement by Dereck McNeil, a protected witness in the Angie Peña disappearance case, has emerged showing him claiming to have seen the young woman and naming alleged members of a criminal group called Los Delta; McNeil was later killed.

A Honduran court has ordered the trial of four men accused in the disappearance of American tourist Angie Peña, missing since January 2022 from Roatán, to be conducted in closed session, barring press and public access; the prosecution argues secrecy protects the investigation and potentially Peña's safety if she is alive.

Walter Peña, whose daughter Angie disappeared in Roatán in January 2022, says he has received written threats demanding he stop giving interviews and pursuing the case, but he will not be silenced and believes his daughter is still alive.

Dereck McNeil, a protected witness in the investigation of the 2022 disappearance of student Angie Peña, was shot and killed Monday on Roatán by armed gunmen; authorities are investigating how his identity as a protected witness was leaked.

Former deputy security minister Semma Julissa Villanueva did not appear Monday for a scheduled testimony with the Special Organized Crime Prosecutor's Office in the investigation of missing woman Angie Peña, whom Villanueva had publicly commented on.

The Public Ministry will formally question former Deputy Security Minister Julissa Villanueva and demand she submit evidence she claims to hold about the disappearance of Angie Peña, after she publicly accused the Criminal Investigation Agency (ATIC) of obstructing the investigation.
