The US Embassy announced a $245,000 cultural-preservation grant to restore Copán's original staircase and create a 3D museum replica, among other initiatives, in collaboration with Honduras's anthropology institute.

Copán Ruinas will hold its tenth annual Guacamaya Fest from June 26–28, celebrating Honduras's macaw-conservation efforts and cultural heritage, with 12 red macaws to be released on June 28 as part of a decade-long initiative that has freed over 120 birds.
