Tegucigalpa's water utility will install new micrometers in five Comayagüela neighborhoods to improve measurement accuracy, reduce water loss, and boost consumer confidence in billing under a World Bank–backed program.

The Municipal Water and Sanitation Unit (UMAPS) published neighborhood water-supply schedules for Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela on October 15, with service times varying by sector and area.

The Central District Municipality is adding horizontal and vertical road markings, parking spaces, and lighting to recently paved streets in Comayagüela to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

UMAPS released a distribution schedule for Tuesday, September 29, detailing which neighborhoods in Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela will receive water service and at what hours.

The Tegucigalpa–Comayagüela municipal authority reports 75% progress on an L8.68 million (about $348,000) stormwater-control project in the Santa Eduviges–Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood that officials say will reduce flood risk and improve access for roughly 10,000 residents, with completion expected in October 2026.

UMAPS will distribute water to dozens of Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela neighborhoods on September 22, with service windows varying by sector as part of a rotation schedule through October 31.

The Tegucigalpa municipal government began clearing markets in Comayagüela a month ago, enforcing yellow-line boundaries to reclaim space for pedestrians and vehicle circulation in markets including Colón, Álvarez, and San Isidro.
