The main public hospital's sewing department, now operating in renovated facilities with a L25 million investment from UNOPS, will produce up to 5,000 hospital gowns, sheets, and surgical linens monthly after two years of supply shortages.

Jorge Moreira da Silva, the UN's deputy secretary-general and executive director of UNOPS, said the agency will push for transparent, competitive procurement processes in Honduras while expanding collaboration on infrastructure, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
