Municipal Infrastructure

The government is delivering 126 excavators, graders, and tractors to 81 municipalities in a first phase worth $18 million, part of a broader $178 million program to improve roads, emergency response, and drought-affected areas.

The first shipment of heavy machinery, including Caterpillar soil compactors, arrived at Puerto Henecán as part of a $244 million government program to distribute 2,100 pieces of equipment across all 298 municipalities for road and infrastructure work.

Lawmakers approved the transfer of 30 manzanas (about 75 acres) of land from the National Agricultural University to the municipality of Trojes, El Paraíso, to be used for public infrastructure including a slaughterhouse, cemetery, hospital, or fire station.
