At the UN General Assembly, Honduras and the Global Partnership for Education announced roughly $70 million for 'Toward a More Inclusive Education: Transforming Rural Schools,' a program aimed at expanding and improving rural school access.

Eighteen schools across Cortés, Santa Bárbara, and Colón departments received annual support from Mexico's three-decade-old Escuelas México program, which provides $1,000 per school for repairs, furniture, and teacher training.
