Sixty secondary schools across Tegucigalpa will participate in the September 15 Independence Day parade, organized into five thematic blocks and concluding at the National Stadium to commemorate Honduras's 205 years of independence.

The Ministry of Education has announced the lineup of 61 public and private schools that will march in Tegucigalpa's September 15 independence parade, organized into five blocks by district, with Instituto Central Vicente Cáceres closing the procession.

Honduras's Education Ministry has instructed schools to schedule parade rehearsals outside regular class hours and banned full-day suspensions to keep learning time intact ahead of September 15 independence celebrations.

Honduras's Independence Day parades on September 15 will not feature the traditional military parachute display after two officers were injured during last year's show; the Armed Forces will instead conduct parachute demonstrations on September 5 and 12 at a separate venue.

The Education Ministry will permit only 60 schools to march in Tegucigalpa's September 15 Independence Day parade and has set time limits and organizational rules to shorten the event and reduce students' exposure to midday heat.

With Honduras's 205th independence anniversary approaching on September 15, the coordinating committee has begun organizing traditional parades and security operations, deploying over 3,000 police officers to ensure public safety during the month-long festivities.
