Authorities in Tela are investigating the death of an unidentified woman found on a beach in the Garífuna community of San Juan on Sunday morning with a gunshot wound; a man admitted to the hospital with a bullet injury the same night is also under investigation.

Yaritza Murillo, 20, and Katerin Oliva, 19, were shot dead and three men were wounded in an armed attack at a home in El Porvenir, Atlántida; the motive remains unclear and no arrests have been reported.
