Honduras logged more than 9,000 traffic accidents through July 25, killing 1,150 people and injuring 1,891, with motorcyclists involved in 41% of all crashes amid a growing motorcycle fleet and reckless driving, the National Road and Transport Authority said.

An analysis by Honduras's National Violence Observatory found that 13 municipalities across 16 departments recorded zero or minimal homicides over the past decade (2016–2025), with Mercedes de Oriente in La Paz reporting no murders at all in those ten years.
