Honduras's disaster-management agency declared a 48-hour green alert for Alianza in Valle and maintained the same alert level for the capital and San Pedro Sula due to heavy rains forecast to increase river levels and risk flooding and landslides.

Rising water on the Goascorán River has isolated at least 12 communities in the Costa de los Amates area of Alianza municipality in Valle department, affecting some 4,000 people and disrupting food supplies and shrimp-farming operations.

Heavy rains swelled the Goascorán River, submerging the only road access to 16 communities in Costa de los Amates and leaving over 900 families isolated; authorities have deployed boats as a temporary measure while residents and local officials press for permanent infrastructure solutions.
