FIFA has imposed a six-window ban on player registrations against Juticalpa FC of Honduras's Liga Nacional due to unpaid financial obligations, a penalty that will hamper the club's roster planning for three years.

Jhon Jairo López, a Colombian coach who has led six previous clubs in Honduras's Liga Nacional, takes over Juticalpa FC, which currently sits in second-to-last place.

Midfielder Cristian Sacaza has joined Juticalpa FC on a one-year loan from Marathón after a contractual dispute over housing payments, with Marathón asserting it provided a monthly stipend rather than direct housing.

Olimpia won 3–1 at Juticalpa on August 9 in the second round of Honduras's Apertura 2026 season, extending their perfect record to six points with victories in two league matches and earlier wins in the Supercopa and Copa Centroamericana.

Honduran winger Cristian Sacaza is reportedly set to join Juticalpa FC for the 2026 Apertura season, with the deal agreed in principle pending an official announcement, after leaving Marathon following a contract dispute over unauthorized absence from training.
