Utility Crisis

Water scarcity in Honduras's capital has driven plastic barrel prices to 1,200–1,800 lempiras (roughly $48–$72) as residents scramble to store water during extended supply interruptions of up to 12 days.

President Nasry Asfura highlighted the state electricity utility's financial crisis, citing cumulative losses of 118 billion lempiras (about $4.7 billion) as a central challenge facing the administration.
