Stadium Renovation

Work on the Roberto Martínez stadium in Siguatepeque, home to Atlético Independiente, is progressing with CONDEPOR Honduras installing a new playing field, with the club hoping to host home matches there next season.

Honduras's sports authority (CONDEPOR) has released funds to renovate the Roberto Martínez Ávila Stadium in Siguatepeque, home to Independiente, a club in the national league that currently plays home matches at a temporary venue.

Honduras's national sports authority is conducting technical surveys in the Bay Islands to assess sports facilities and secondary roads for potential improvements, with plans to upgrade stadiums in Roatán and Utila and pursue projects in football, basketball, volleyball, and baseball.

CONDEPOR is modernizing the lighting system at the National Stadium and Olympic Complex to meet international competition standards and support high-definition television broadcasts, with a specialist from MUSCO presenting plans to address current deficiencies.
