School Calendar

Honduras's Education Ministry confirmed the 2026 school year closes on November 30, with October and November featuring national exams, civic holidays, professional internship reports, and makeup sessions for students who did not meet minimum standards.

Honduras's Education Ministry has set September 28 to October 2 as the school break for Morazán Week, a five-day closure for preschool through secondary students that differs from the October 7–9 public holiday for workers.

Honduras's 2026 school calendar calls for student evaluations throughout August, with the first breaks coming in September for Independence Day (September 16) and Teachers' Day (September 17), followed by the Morazánica Week holiday starting September 28.

PRICPHMA, a teachers' union, says it will weigh protests after Student Week ends July 17 if the Education Ministry does not address the dismissal of over 1,000 civil-service school workers, including custodians and gate staff.

The government and teachers' union agreed to establish a permanent dialogue table to address salary concerns and called for classes to resume on June 3 after days of strikes.

Honduras's Education Ministry confirmed that teachers will have September 16 off and September 17 as a holiday (Teachers' Day), but must resume classes on Friday, September 18, ending the Independence Day break early.
