Honduras's 2026 school calendar calls for student evaluations throughout August, with the first breaks coming in September for Independence Day (September 16) and Teachers' Day (September 17), followed by the Morazánica Week holiday starting September 28.

PRICPHMA, a teachers' union, says it will weigh protests after Student Week ends July 17 if the Education Ministry does not address the dismissal of over 1,000 civil-service school workers, including custodians and gate staff.

The government and teachers' union agreed to establish a permanent dialogue table to address salary concerns and called for classes to resume on June 3 after days of strikes.
