Procurement

Honduras awarded a 49.7 million lempiras (about $2 million) contract for a national early-alert platform to a consortium including International Technology Group, a company identified as connected to a scheme that siphoned roughly 7 billion lempiras from the social-security institute.

Prosecutors opened a new investigation into Ninfa Suyapa Flores, former director of the National Institute for Juvenile Offenders, for alleged irregularities in food-procurement processes at the agency, adding to charges of abuse of authority, fraud, and workplace harassment.
