Nations League

Honduras fell one place to 67th in the FIFA world rankings after earning just four points in the Concacaf Nations League, winning once and drawing once against Jamaica but losing to Surinam and Martinica.

Honduras finished fourth in Group B of the Concacaf Nations League with 4 points after a 1–1 draw with Jamaica, missing the quarterfinals but staying in League A while Martinique and El Salvador drop to League B.

CONCACAF has approved Honduras's appeal and annulled forward Dereck Moncada's red card from the Jamaica match, allowing him to play in Friday's Nations League game against Martinique.

Honduras's soccer federation filed a formal complaint with Concacaf over the expulsion of 18-year-old forward Dereck Moncada during a 1–0 Nations League win over Jamaica, claiming the direct red card issued in the 68th minute was a clear referee error.

The National Police will station 550 officers in six security rings around National Stadium for Honduras's Nations League opener against Surinam on September 25 at 7:00 p.m., with nearby streets closed from 3:30 p.m. and gates opening at 4:00 p.m.

The Honduran Football Federation has released ticket prices (ranging from 200 to 600 lempiras, about $8–$24) for home Nations League matches against Surinam on September 25 and Jamaica on October 5 at the National Stadium in Tegucigalpa.

Honduras will face Surinam, Jamaica, and Martinica in the Concacaf Nations League starting late September, the first official test for newly hired Spanish coach José Francisco Molina, who was brought in to guide the country toward World Cup 2030 qualification after three consecutive failed campaigns.

National team coach José Francisco Molina is attending Liga Nacional matches to evaluate players for Honduras's squad for the Concacaf Nations League, which begins in late September.
