Congress President Tomás Zambrano said Honduras faces evaluation by the international Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and risks being added to a gray list if it fails to strengthen anti-money-laundering laws, which could limit access to international financing and cooperation.

Honduras's banking commission (CNBS) is preparing regulations for cryptocurrency and virtual-asset companies through reforms to anti-money-laundering law, aiming to meet international standards ahead of a Financial Action Task Force evaluation in August and prevent illicit fund flows.
