Hospital Escuela treated 222 emergency patients during Morazán Week (October 3–9), with 178 cases—80.2%—stemming from traffic accidents, including injuries and fatalities.

Honduras's Health Ministry announced that most health facilities will remain open on September 15, with hospitals providing emergency services only, while primary-care centers and emergency clinics will operate normally during the independence-day holiday.

A child in San Marcos de Colón was rushed to Hospital General del Sur after a rattlesnake bit his leg while he played in his family's yard; the Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa has treated over 60 people for venomous snakebites so far this year across multiple departments.

Hospital Escuela announced that referring hospitals must obtain medical referrals and bed availability confirmation before transferring patients, aiming to coordinate emergency admissions and optimize care capacity.

Hospital Escuela spokesperson Said Norales says nine in ten inpatients at the Tegucigalpa public hospital are there due to traffic accidents.
