Honduras national team coach José Francisco Molina says midfielder Kervin Arriaga's transfer to AEK Athens is a competitive advance because the Greek club will compete in the Champions League.

Kervin Arriaga's AEK Atenas will compete in the 2026–27 Champions League league phase against elite European clubs including Manchester City and Real Madrid, beginning September 8 against LASK.

Honduran midfielder Kervin Arriaga missed AEK Athens's 0–0 draw against Levski Sofia in the Champions League playoff's first leg because he was traveling to Spain to retrieve his family and belongings; he is expected to be available for the return match and could debut in the Greek league on Saturday.

Honduran winger Luis Palma delivered an assist and played a key role in Lech Poznan's 4–1 victory over AGF Aarhus in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

Honduran forward Luis Palma and Polish champion Lech Poznań will face Denmark's Aarhus GF in the second qualifying round of the 2026–27 Champions League, with matches set for late July.
