The president of Tegucigalpa's Chamber of Commerce and Industries says Honduras's newly approved part-time employment law is a step forward but contains ambiguities that limit its effectiveness, and urges government, Congress, and stakeholders to form a dialogue table to strengthen and clarify the law through consensus.

Business leaders warn that persistent inflation and rising energy costs remain the top concerns for Honduras's economy, with April's year-over-year inflation reaching 5.56% and Middle East instability driving up fuel prices.

The Tegucigalpa Chamber of Commerce forecasts that payments of the traditional 14th-month bonus will pump approximately L24.9 billion (about $1 billion USD) into the public and private sectors combined.
