Roughly 24,000 Chinese citizens entered Honduras without authorization between 2022 and 2025, and the National Migration Institute cannot say how many remain or moved on northward; the surge followed Honduras's establishment of diplomatic ties with China in March 2023 and a 2023 migration amnesty.
