Former Judge Warns on Design of Judicial Council Law

Former Supreme Court magistrate Jacobo Cálix urged broad public debate on a proposed Judicial Council law before Congress passes it, warning that if lawmakers appoint council members, political influence could erode judicial independence and merit-based selection of judges.
